Why Swissgrams

  • Direct Gold Ownership

Each SGG token represents a co-ownership property title under Swiss law in underlying physical gold coins, giving holders direct exposure to allocated gold rather than a synthetic claim or paper product.

  • Swiss Secure Storage

The underlying gold is held through professional custody arrangements in Switzerland, a jurisdiction widely recognised for political stability, private property protection, and precious metals storage.

  • Redeemable from 1 oz

Swissgrams is designed so holders can redeem SGG for physical gold in 1 oz increments, enabling access in smaller units than the large-bar formats typically required by ETFs and institutional gold products.gold backing SGG is securely custodied in Swiss vaults and regularly audited. Swissgrams is focused on transparency, compliance, and trusted asset protection.

  • On-Chain Transferability & Self-Custody

SGG is issued on the Ethereum blockchain, allowing gold ownership to move with blockchain speed and transparency. Holders can also self-custody SGG directly in their own wallets, giving them control over their tokenized ownership title.

FAQ

Yes. Swissgrams Gold, or SGG, is backed by physical coins with one-troy-ounce gold content and legal tender status. Each SGG token represents a co-ownership title to underlying physical gold held in custody.
The gold backing SGG is stored in Switzerland through professional custody arrangements. Swissgrams is designed around secure Swiss storage, insured custody, and independent auditing of the underlying gold reserve.
SGG holders can redeem their tokens for physical gold starting from 1 oz. Redemption is designed to be available through Swissgrams and, over time, through approved precious metal dealer partners. The redemption process, timing, and any applicable fees are set out in the Token Terms.
Swissgrams charges a one-off issuance fee (“Minting Fee”) of up to 0.5% and a redemption fee of up to 0.5%, plus any applicable third-party fees. Swissgrams does not charge a transaction fee on SGG transfers, although blockchain gas fees may still apply. As of the current terms, no custody fee is charged, but Swissgrams reserves the right to introduce one with advance notice.
Yes. SGG is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, so holders can store it directly in a compatible self-custody wallet. This gives holders direct control over their tokenized gold ownership.
Yes. SGG can be transferred on-chain through the Ethereum blockchain, allowing gold ownership to move digitally with blockchain speed and transparency.
The structure is designed so that SGG holders have a co-ownership claim to the underlying gold reserve and this includes a segregation claim in the event of bankruptcy, meaning the gold remains separate from Swissgrams’ own assets.
Swissgrams performs a formal audit of its physical gold stock on an annual basis. This includes auditing of the physical gold deposits underlying the SGG tokens, and verifying the backing of the token. However, we also publish on our website any and all changes to our gold holdings held with custodians (from a source independent from us). This allows anyone to independently verify at any time that all tokens outstanding are fully backed.
Swissgrams is designed to support multiple access paths, including direct purchase through Swissgrams, partner gold dealers, centralized exchanges, decentralized exchanges, and physical gold swap or shipping routes where available.
Physical redemption is designed to start from 1 oz. Any fractional entitlement may be settled in cash, subject to the Token Terms.
SGG holders hold a co-ownership title to the underlying physical gold coins. The token acts as the digital representation of that ownership interest.
SGG is designed to give holders access to physical gold ownership through blockchain infrastructure. Holders can self-custody and transfer SGG on-chain without relying on traditional bank rails for token transfers.
